INSPIRATION
In 1985, two British mountaineers, Joe Simpson and Simon Yates, embarked on a daring attempt to climb the previously unconquered mountain Suila Grande.

Following the successful slog to the summit, the climbs difficulties brought them to grief. During their perilous descent Joe horribly shattered his leg forcing Simon to cut the support rope on which Joe's life, quite literally, is hung by a thread.

Joe's determination and inner stength to surmount each deadly trial following his landing in a cravasse is a tale of awe and wonderment. Crippled with a broken leg, Joe somehow finds the strength to continue his descent back to base camp where, luckily, Simon and their companion are yet to leave.

Joe's epic tale is re-told in graphic detail in his book (and now feature film) Touching the Void.

Thankyou Joe - your courage and inner strength have been a lesson to me. A great example to follow.

The funds are slowly coming in and the balance is creeping up. Still a long way to go to reach the £10,000 target. Please encourage all of your friends, family, neighbours and their friends to support a very worthwhile cause. Don't all the peiple of South Wales deserve the cutting edge technology a 3D scanner would give?
