LEG 12: Ascent of Alpe D'Huez

Distance: 14km/8 miles

[The legend of Alpe D'Huez]

Situated on the border of the French Alps near the town of Bourg d'Oisans, roughly an hour's drive from Grenoble, Alpe d'Huez is the most feared climb in the Tour de France for its abrupt, brutal ascent into the clouds. No other climb has a greater history of suffering, nor exudes the same emotions.

It has an average gradient of 7.9%, is 13 kilometres long, has 21 hairpins and an elevation of 1860 metres! Can't wait!!!

The funds are slowly coming in and the balance is creeping up. Still a long way to go to reach the £10,000 target. Please encourage all of your friends, family, neighbours and their friends to support a very worthwhile cause. Don't all the peiple of South Wales deserve the cutting edge technology a 3D scanner would give?
